  1. I love Dala Horses. My father went to school at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. You can see Dala Horses as big as real horses in Lindsborg. You can buy unpainted ones of all sizes and paint them yourself, or you can buy the already painted ones. The one I painted and placed on our china cabinet ledge with wax slowly drooped to a laying position without falling the moment my mother passed away. The Swedish side of the family will never forget that and how it captured our feelings. Placing the Dala on or in the china cabinet is traditional, and when I first had it displayed in a built in planter, it would fall off by seeming to fly over the nearby table. There was no wind or fan. The Dala has a deep place in the hearts of Swedish people.
