While the USA primarily believes in the tooth fairy, in many other parts of the world, a mouse is the creature that takes away the baby tooth. For example, in Argentina, children put the tooth into a glass of water believing that during the night, a little mouse “El Ratonito,” will drink the water, take the tooth, and leave coins or candy in the empty glass.
