Dr. Bob, a self-taught artist in New Orleans, Louisiana is noted for using the phrase “Be Nice or Leave” as well as his paintings and assemblages of bright colors and salvaged materials depicting the creatures, characters, and spirit of the Crescent City. This “Mojo” (good luck) painting, dated 2000, is oil on plywood from a packing crate with various beer bottle caps nailed around the perimeter. It measures 38” H and 28” W.
