I have a small collection of a variety of Italian comic books, gathered in Italy and the United States over many decades. Among them are issues of the influential Italian comic series Diabolik which were mostly purchased at used comic book shops in Naples. They are a special favorite of mine because the series was started by two women (Angela and Luciana Giussani, sisters) and because the covers reflect a punchy, stylized approach that favored the 1970s. The series revolves mainly around the sometimes-fantastical machinations of the thief/killer, Diabolik, and his equally-ingenuous lover and companion Eva Kant.
