Terracotta, hand-built soft-slab work with matte-glazes (10 pieces). This Nativity was a graded assignment in ceramics class that Bob was taking in 1986. The figures have little facial features, which draws attention to their exquisitely draped forms. The clay for the head coverings and robes was rolled out very thin and draped over each figure, the sleeves were made separate and then attached to the robes. Baby Jesus and his blanket are separate pieces and can be removed from the manger. Joseph is 10 inches tall.
