This Filipino lasso came from a Filipino handcrafts store located near my Los Angeles home. At the time, Filipinos were in the majority working as nurses and in other medical capacities at four nearby major hospitals.
During the wedding ceremony the priest places the lazo on the wedding couple, indicating that they are now united.
